  Mesothelioma Types & Stages

Pleural mesothelioma spreads within the chest cavity and may involve the lungs. Pleural mesothelioma can metastasize in any organ in the body. Pleural mesothelioma may be characterized by pain in the chest and difficulty breathing caused by fluid in the chest called pleural effusion. A CT scan will help your doctor assess the progression of mesothelioma in the chest cavity. Pleural mesothelioma victims have a worse prognosis than peritoneal.
